Best coworking spaces in the Upper West Side

With many families, older residents and high real estate values, the Upper West Side is probably not the first place you will think to look when searching for a coworking space. However, a strong coworking community exists in the areas around Lincoln Center and Columbia University, and coworking spaces both large and small are beginning to appear in the Upper West Side. These are four of your best options for Upper West Side coworking.

The Yard

The first coworking space in the Upper West Side was The Yard, which opened its doors in 2014. Just minutes away from Lincoln Center, Central Park and Columbus Circle, the conveniently located space remains one of the best options for full-service coworking in Upper Manhattan. This location has two floors of dedicated workspaces, including reservable desks and private offices. There are also comfortable lounges and reservable conference rooms available.

WeWork

WeWork’s location on W. 57th Street and 7th Avenue is not technically in the Upper West Side, but with only few options in the neighborhood it is a good choice if you don’t mind a short commute. The large space offers all of the usual WeWork perks including bike storage, beer on tap, coffee and tea, printing and mail services and both shared desks and private offices. WeWork tends to be on the pricier side, and the Columbus Circle coworking space is one of the pricier WeWork locations in New York City.

KettleSpace @ The Ribbon

At night, The Ribbon is one of the Upper West Side’s best restaurants, serving excellent American cuisine with a French flare. During the day, KettleSpace transforms The Ribbon into an affordable coworking space with free coffee and tea, reliable WiFi, ample seating, power outlets, and discounts on the food menu for members. With rates starting at just $25 per month, KettleSpace is the most affordable coworking space in the Upper West Side and provides a great alternative to some of the neighborhood’s pricier options.

Verus Gallery Space

Verus Gallery Space is a reservable office space with daily prices for conferences rooms and single desks, as well as dedicated desks and two private offices currently available for monthly rental. The space does not offer all the perks of other coworking options, but the location and daily rental availability make it a good option if you need an hourly conference room in the Upper West Side or are just looking for a place to work for a few days. There is printing, a kitchen, an open lounge area and storage space for monthly members; but Verus Gallery Space does not offer some other coworking perks like happy hours or an online member network.

Whether you need space for a few days, or a membership to a coworking space in Upper West Side that fits your personality, you’ll likely find a great option from the list above.
